The Apps

     Dating in your 40s, in 2024, hmmm, well there are so many awful comparisons that I will just say it's really, really bad out there.  It seems the best way to meet people is on the dating apps, there are so many.  Within 24hrs of chatting with a match, you can easily tell what their about.  Sadly most just want you to talk dirty to them so they have an excuse to send unsolicited d*ck pics.  That's about as original as it gets with anyone real.  Then you have the gorgeous men who more than likely aren't even real.  Their story is all the same.  Moved from another country and somehow they are in some line of finance that deals with crypto with the most ridiculous lines you've ever read. Block.  You have a handful over time that you have decent enough conversations with and wouldn't mind meeting in person.  Before, on the east coast, these first dates never went well and I was always repulsed by them.  Here I was going to give it another try.  Sadly living in the center of the U.S. it seems no one really wants to actually meet. Block.  They say it can happen, but in the 2 years I've been "on the apps," it didn't seem promising.  Until it does.
